Faith-driven entrepreneurs, like our Branches Worldwide Leaders, can play a significant role in positively impacting their communities through their businesses. These individuals have a strong sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference in the world, which can drive them to create innovative solutions to community problems and to lead with integrity and compassion. One way faith-driven entrepreneurs can change their communities is by creating jobs and economic opportunities (like AJ in South Africa ). By starting and growing successful businesses, they can provide employment for local residents and stimulate economic growth. This can help to reduce poverty and improve the overall well-being of the community. Additionally, faith-driven entrepreneurs may choose to pay fair wages and provide good working conditions, which can help to improve the lives of their employees and their families. Another way faith-driven entrepreneurs can change their communities is by addressing social issues through their businesses. For example, they may choose to start a non-profit organization that provides services to those in need, as Alice has done for girls and women in Kenya. Such entrepreneurs may also choose to incorporate social and environmental responsibility into their for-profit business models. This can include implementing sustainable practices, fair trade policies and supporting local charities, which can help to improve the lives of people in their communities. Faith-driven entrepreneurs can also serve as role models for others in their communities, particularly for young people. By demonstrating the importance of hard work, perseverance, and integrity, they can inspire others to pursue their own business dreams and to strive for success in their own lives. Furthermore, their demonstration of faith in action through their businesses can serve as a powerful example of how one can live out one's values and beliefs in the world. Faith-driven entrepreneurs can also serve as leaders in their communities. They use their influence and resources to bring about positive change through various initiatives, such as supporting local schools, promoting environmental conservation, and working to improve the overall quality of life for their community members. Our Leader, David , is doing exactly this in his international school in India. Our Branches Worldwide Leaders are proving the multitude of positive effects that faith-driven entrepreneurs can have in their communities. From providing direct assistance through jobs or providing services to those in need to being a source of inspiration for others, these entrepreneurs are creating change that will reverberate across geography and generations. At Branches Worldwide , we exist to connect and empower a global network of high-impact entrepreneurs who use their businesses as a means of transforming their communities. We believe every visionary leader should have the resources and relationships to help them impact their community. Contact us to learn more about becoming a Leader , Mentor , or Donor .

Business mentorship can be a valuable resource for entrepreneurs and professionals looking to grow and succeed in their careers. A business mentor is an experienced individual who can provide guidance, support, and advice to help you navigate the often complex and unpredictable world of business. Meanwhile, Christian mentorship is a type of mentorship that involves a Christian mentor providing guidance, support, and advice to a mentee, with a focus on spiritual and moral development. Branches Worldwide Mentors serve as both business and Christian Mentors. We believe that faith and business can not only coexist, but that they can mutually strengthen each other. Our Mentors not only guide our Leaders in pragmatic elements of business, but also in their spiritual journeys. One of the key benefits of business mentorship is the opportunity to learn from someone who has first-hand knowledge of the field. Our Mentors share their own experiences, insights, and lessons learned, helping our Leaders avoid common pitfalls and to make better decisions. This can be especially useful for those who are just starting out in their career, as they may not have the same level of experience or knowledge as more seasoned professionals. Our Mentors also serve as role models, offering guidance and support as the Leader navigates their own faith journey. They may provide biblical teaching and encouragement, as well as offer practical advice and application of the scriptures. Another benefit of merging Christian and business mentorship is the opportunity to network and build professional relationships with other entrepreneurs of faith. Mentors can introduce Leaders to other like-minded industry professionals, giving Leaders the chance to expand their network and strengthen their spiritual development. Overall, mentorship is an invaluable resource for Christians looking to grow in their faith and navigate the challenges of life and business. We at Branches Worldwide are honored to work with a number of such individuals.

The literature on Christian leadership is vast. Scholars analyze leaders like Jesus Christ; historical Christian leaders, like Martin Luther King, Jr.; and contemporary Christian leaders to try to isolate the unique qualities that set them apart. Fundamentally, any Christian person— in name and in action— who finds themselves in a position of influence is a Christian leader. However, the quality and effectiveness of those leaders varies greatly. What qualities do the most effective Christian leaders embrace? Looking both to the Bible and to real-world examples, a few common adjectives emerge. Humble Christian leaders embrace humility. Proverbs 11:2 states, "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." This verse speaks to the idea that a person can only learn if they have a genuine attitude of humility, holding an open heart and mind. Entering a conversation with a sense of superiority or with strong prejudice inhibits the acquisition of wisdom and limits a leader's ability to grow. Humility also corresponds to honesty— the ability to be open about mistakes or blind spots, which grows trust between a leader and their community. Service-oriented Servant leadership is at the core of the Christian faith. The Bible repeatedly calls on Christians to show kindness to others, provide assistance to those less fortunate, and give generously of our own wealth. Mother Theresa epitomized the service-oriented Christian leader. She stated, “A life not lived for others is not a life.” Service-oriented leaders benefit from forming meaningful connections with those in their community and from creating an example of grassroots change. Accessible Like Jesus Christ, who lived among the people, Christian leaders must make themselves readily accessible to those who seek them. Leading from the top of a tower creates distance and distrust between a leader and their community. Remaining open and available allows leaders avenues to communicate important ideas and cultivate trust between themselves and those in their sphere of influence. Self-reflective Christian leaders must seek to continually grow and improve in character, faith, and service. Ongoing and honest self-reflection helps Christian leaders to understand God's calling for them. Hebrews 6:10-11 states, "Everything you do in your journey of self-improvement, including serving others in love, matters to God." Effective Christian leaders thoughtfully consider criticism, engage in regular prayer, embrace educational opportunities, and actively seek ways to build their character and become more Christlike. These characteristics are certainly not the only qualities of effective Christian leaders, but they are a strong foundation for those seeking to lead with an "upright heart" (Psalm 78:72). Christian leaders who embrace these characteristics have the potential to create lasting change, bringing faith and light to all corners of the world. 5 Ways to Influence Your Community (driven by faith).

Servant leadership is a philosophy practiced by people who understand that the purpose of work goes beyond financial gain. Instead, the impact extends to the community and the world around them. This article will outline some ways in which leaders like you can make an impact on a global scale. Serve from a place of gratitude. Serving others is a privilege, and it's one that many people don't get to experience. As leaders, we have the opportunity to be a positive influence on the world around us in a way that most people can't. We have an opportunity to make our mark and leave a legacy. But for this to happen, we must first start with gratitude. So often, we think about what we're giving up or what we're going through instead of focusing on what we have in front of us: an opportunity to give back and serve others (and ourselves) unconditionally. When you serve from gratitude, everything becomes more manageable—you're grateful for the lessons you learn; you grow as an individual, and your confidence grows as well! Become a lifelong learner. Learning is crucial for leaders. To keep learning and growing, you must constantly challenge yourself and open up to new experiences. You can do this by: Learning from others. The best way to learn is from people who have already been where you want to go. So it's vital that you seek mentors, coaches, and advisors who can help guide your career growth and point out areas where you need improvement—and then listen! Being curious about the world around you (and outside of work!). Be sure you look at things differently than before; being open-minded allows new ideas to flow. Asking questions! Good questions bring out more information than they take away; they prevent mistakes from happening because they require clarity in thought processes before acting on an idea or taking actionable steps towards achieving any goal. Make an impact through work and relationships. As a leader, you are in the position to make a positive impact on your community. While it may be tempting to focus solely on your company's bottom line or expand outward into the world at large, leaders can learn an important lesson from those who have gone before them: making an impact through work and relationships. The first step to making an impact is working with the community, not just for the community. This means being more than just another job creator; instead, seek out opportunities that will allow you to help others become self-sufficient. Be authentic. Be honest with yourself. You're not always right as a leader—and that's okay. Be open and honest about your mistakes so others can learn from them. Be true to your values. You are an individual who stands for something greater than yourself; therefore, you need to remain faithful to those beliefs even when faced with difficult decisions or challenging circumstances. Be true to your commitments: As a leader, it is critical for you to follow through on the promises that you make to maintain credibility over time. Have a strong sense of purpose. Leaders with a strong sense of purpose inspire and attract others to their vision. They are clear about their organization's mission, values, and goals. Their passion for doing good drives them to work hard to pursue those goals. When you spend time reflecting on your values and how they can be used as the foundation for leading a team or organization, you will find that having a clear sense of purpose makes it easier for others to follow. When it comes to making an impact as a leader, it's important to remember that everyone has the potential to change lives. Anyone can make a difference through their actions—and that includes you. At Branches Worldwide , we exist to connect and empower a global network of high-impact entrepreneurs who use their businesses as a means to transform their communities. We believe every visionary leader should have the resources and relationships to help them impact their community. Contact us to learn more about becoming a Leader , Mentor , or donor .

Leading with Christ at the Center
By BRANCHES WORLDWIDE 05 May, 2021
Why 30 Leaders? (And Four Other Questions We Answer a Lot) We spend the majority of our time working with leaders. And after countless conversations with people all over the globe, we've noticed that a handful of important questions continue to rise to the surface. Since these are questions most people have about Branches, we thought you'd have similar questions as well. So, without further ado… here are the top four questions we hear about Branches Worldwide. What exactly are you trying to do? Branches Worldwide is a faith-based non-profit organization that believes leadership is the solution that creates a thousand solutions. Leaders, specifically business leaders, can affect the lives of thousands of people in their community by the relationships they build, the way they invest, how they live out their faith. That's why we start by identifying some of the best faith-driven entrepreneurs around the world— young leaders who are using their business to bless their community, build their faith, and point people to Christ. Once we find these leaders, their mission becomes our mission. We aim to invest in them and accelerate their work, so they don't just make a difference… but they make an eternal difference. Why 30 Leaders in 30 Countries for 30 years? There are 195 countries in the world, and instead of trying to impact everyone, we decided to start small and dream big. That's why our founder, Brian Miller, inaugurated our organization with the three-year goal to build a diverse community of 30 leaders from 30 countries around the world. On top of that, we would make a 30-year commitment to each leader. This long-term partnership would give leaders the confidence to try new ideas and champion initiatives that glorify Christ and bless their community. We believe that the results from our first 30 leaders will give us the insight to follow Christ and tackle greater goals in the future. How can I be part of Branches? Participation in Branches starts by understanding three words: "Business as Mission". These three words have the power to change the way we confront the most challenging issues in our world today. From the beginning we've asked ourselves, "is business simply about generating profit, or is it possibly a means for real social and spiritual change in the world?" At Branches Worldwide, we believe that God uses business leaders to build up communities in ways like never before! We've learned that handing out food and building homes can create a short term impact. But creating long-term, sustainable change, requires more. What our world needs are concrete solutions and courageous leaders who use their business to create an environment for the hearts of people to be opened to the Gospel. Joining Branches can mean a variety of things. You can become a leader, a donor, a partner, an ambassador, or a mentor. Every role is critical in helping us make an eternal difference in communities around the world What kind of leaders are you looking for? Branches Worldwide was born from the idea that God has called leaders around the world to help create a better future. The ideal Branches Leader Has been called by Christ to use their gifts to positively impact their generation Has high potential, high motivation, and high character. Has drive and imagination to shape the future of their communities. Has a clear, compelling call to lead their neighbors by serving. Has already started work to impact their community Is in a position to influence through their connection to the marketplace (e.g., entrepreneurs, business leaders, business owners, professionals, etc.) We know long-term results require long-term commitments. That's why we're committed to investing in 30 young business leaders in 30 countries for 30 years. What does it look like when a faith-driven business leader impacts their community? Come alongside us and we'll find out together. Together, we'll demonstrate what can happen when a business becomes a means to spread the gospel and transform a community!
